Archimede Informatica Joins OPERAS
Archimede Informatica has joined OPERAS, the European research infrastructure for open scientific communication in the social sciences and humanities. OPERAS brings together 80 members from 27 countries and has a clear goal: to coordinate resources and expertise to make open science a reality.
WHAT WE BRING TO THE TABLE
We have been working on Open Access since 2004. We offer consulting, training, technical support, and hosting to university presses and private publishers who publish journals and monographs using OJS and OMP, the open-source software developed by PKP. And it is this experience that we make available to the OPERAS community.
OUR COMMITMMENT: THE BEST PRACTICES GROUP
We will actively participate in the community’s work, particularly in the Best Practices Special Interest Group. The group identifies best practices in academic publishing and translates them into concrete actions. It focuses on peer review, open licenses, dissemination, metrics, and digital preservation. Our contribution will draw on our hands-on experience working with academic institutions and publishers whom we support in using OJS and OMP.
WHY WE DO IT
We are a nonprofit cooperative and have been using open-source software since our founding in 1996. One of our goals is to help improve the society in which we live, and in this regard, joining OPERAS is a concrete way to pursue this goal.
